The Carolina Panthers couldn't put the skids on a losing streak because they couldn't get out of their own way here in Week 9.
Here's everything we know from Sunday's bitter loss to the Denver Broncos . . .
Broncos 26, Panthers 21
The Panthers committed 13 penalties for 119 yards. They also coughed up two costly turnovers—one on a first-and-goal from the Broncos' 1-yard line and the other on a strip-sack of quarterback Bryce Young late in the fourth quarter.
Bo Nix's Broncos, as they usually do, claimed control of the fourth quarter. Denver, who were down a point entering the game's final 15 minutes, outscored Carolina 13-7 to finish off the win.
Nix picked on the Panthers' waning depth at cornerback, completing 25 of his 37 throws for 237 yards and a pair of scores.
The Panthers had life late in the fourth—getting the ball back at their 44-yard line down 26-21 with 1:49 remaining. But after a 20-yard completion to wideout Tetairoa McMillan, Young was strip-sacked by Broncos linebacker Nik Bonitto.
Denver recovered and proceeded to pick up a first down on a 1-yard quarterback sneak to drain out the clock.
TE Darren Waller: seven receptions, 90 yards, touchdown
QB Bryce Young: 28-of-39, 276 yards, three touchdowns, interception
RB Chuba Hubbard: 16 carries, 79 rushing yards, four receptions, 17 receiving yards
The Panthers (3-5) will be back on the road in Week 10 to take on the New Orleans Saints in an NFC South showdown.
