Angel Reese notched a double-double for the Atlanta Dream in its 97-71 win over the Golden State Valkyries in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. The LSU women's basketball star helped give her team a 2-1 series lead.
In Wednesday's contest, Reese became the first player in WNBA history to have a double-double in her first three Finals games. She recorded game highs with 21 points and 12 rebounds, including 10 on defense. The six-foot-four forward shot seven of 12 from the field and knocked down both three-point attempts.
Reese also added three assists and three steals. The Dream led for nearly the entire game and weathered a Valkyries comeback attempt in the third quarter. The visitors used a three-pointer to tie the contest two minutes into the frame, but the Dream responded quickly to put the game out of reach.
Through the first seven postseason games of her professional career, Reese averaged 19.1 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks, 1.9 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. She takes the court again in Game 4 on Saturday.
