Aston Villa, meanwhile, appear to have turned a corner following the win at St James’ Park. Opta has given them a 16.87% chance of finishing in the top 5.
Despite Manchester City and Arsenal both securing wins on matchday 7, Opta have switched their favourite to finish top of the table. The statisticians are now giving the edge to the Gunners (46.88% chance of securing top spot).
