"Humiliation" – Five England stars who FLOPPED in Champions Cup nightmare
imago1084657258h

It was a weekend to forget for some of England's biggest rugby stars as PREM clubs suffered a series of painful Champions Cup defeats.

Bath were beaten 32-14 by Montpellier, while Saracens fell to a 45-36 defeat against Connacht. Sale Sharks also endured a miserable afternoon, losing 43 points to Glasgow Warriors.

Several England internationals struggled to make their mark, with costly errors, missed opportunities and disciplinary problems proving decisive.

Here are five England stars who endured afternoons to forget.

1. Owen Farrell (Saracens)

The former England captain endured a frustrating afternoon as Saracens suffered a 45-36 defeat against Connacht in Galway.

Farrell missed two conversions, including a late attempt that would have earned his side a losing bonus point.

The experienced fly-half also conceded penalties as Connacht repeatedly punished Saracens.

While Farrell had some positive moments, his mistakes came at crucial stages of the contest.

For a player with his experience and reputation, it was a disappointing afternoon.

2. Will Stuart (Bath)

England tighthead Will Stuart endured a difficult afternoon as Bath were beaten 32-14 by Montpellier.

The French side caused problems at the scrum, with Stuart struggling to establish the dominance Bath needed.

His difficulties were highlighted by French outlet Rugbyrama, which named him among the disappointing performers.

Bath were unable to build a platform up front, allowing Montpellier to take control of key periods.

It was a frustrating outing for one of England's most experienced front-row forwards.

3. Tom Roebuck (Sale Sharks)

Roebuck's afternoon took a turn for the worse as Sale Sharks suffered a heavy defeat against Glasgow Warriors.

The England winger was shown a yellow card for tripping Scotland international Kyle Steyn.

Roebuck has established himself as an exciting option for England, but this was an afternoon he will want to forget.

4. Joe Cokanasiga (Bath)

The powerful Bath winger was unable to provide the attacking spark his side needed against Montpellier.

Cokanasiga had a golden opportunity to threaten the French side's tryline but failed to gather a pass with a score potentially on offer.

It summed up a frustrating afternoon for Bath, who struggled to turn their opportunities into points.

The England international remains one of the most dangerous finishers in the Premiership.

However, this was a match where his side needed more from its attacking stars.

5. Elliot Daly (Saracens)

The experienced England international endured a mixed afternoon as Saracens conceded 45 points against Connacht.

Daly struggled to impose himself on the contest and lost possession on several occasions.

Although he crossed for a late try, it was not enough to rescue Saracens from defeat.

The Premiership giants were repeatedly exposed by Connacht's attack, leaving their experienced players with plenty to reflect on.

For Daly, it was an afternoon of frustration despite getting his name on the scoresheet.
