Pedro Neto is a player who has frustrated Chelsea fans many times over the years, but he’s got a lot to offer, and on days like today he really shows it.
The right wing back position suits him perfectly, and today he grabbed both goals as the Blues beat Everton. The first was on his right foot, and he calmly took a touch in front of goal before putting it past Jordan Pickford.
The second was from his left foot – a deflection from a free kick dropped to him in the box, and he showed great composure once again to pass the ball into the net.
The stats show that it was more than just goals from the Portugal international today.
He created 5 chances, the most of anyone in the match. He was also top for touches in the opposition box, and got all three of his shots on target.
He also clocked a top speed of 35.5km/h, the highest reached by any player in the game as he tirelessly ran the line.
We just wish he would cut out his ugly habit of screaming in the referee’s face in every game.
The air was really taken out of the game by the horrible collision which saw Emi Martinez taken off on a stretcher.
Chelsea risked a red card as tensions boil over at the Hill Dickinson, but this goal should ease the tension majorly.
