ORLANDO — Not only are the BYU Cougars, as UCF head coach Scott Frost called them, the "best of the bunch" in the Big 12 this season; they're also the best team, or at least the highest-ranked, ever to invade the Acrisure Bounce House.
Positioned at No. 2 in The Associated Press' Top 25 and No. 3 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, the Cougars (6-0, 3-0) travel two time zones following their signature win over Notre Dame to face UCF (3-3, 1-2) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
"I think it's going to be awesome. I think the environment is going to be great," Frost said. "I have to fill out a top-25 (ballot) every week, and it's just been moving parts the entire time — just constantly changing. I think that's college football right now. Anybody can beat anybody any week.
"I think BYU deserves to be ranked where they are. It ought to be based on your record and your wins and losses. They've won every one that they've played."
UCF has a 6-6 all-time record against ranked opponents since its on-campus football stadium opened in 2007. Frost is responsible for overseeing two of its victories — against South Florida and Memphis, in back-to-back weeks, during the undefeated 2017 season.
