Manchester City celebrate Erling Haaland's second against PSG
Enzo Maresca suffered his first defeat as Manchester City manager as his team were smashed 4-2 by Paris Saint-Germain. The reigning Champions League winners were 3-0 up at the break and held off a storming second-half comeback to pick up a big win.
With Pep Guardiola watching on for the first time since he left in summer, showing support for the club after the guilty verdict, City started well enough but were soon three goals down against the French powerhouses. A triple substitution at half-time started a comeback, and Erling Haaland scored twice.
City missed a slew of chances to get more goals and also conceded again when Gianluigi Donnarumma made a save only to see the ball spin back past him. The Blues face Ipswich at home in the Premier League on Saturday looking to return to winning ways.
Here are the ratings from the Manchester Evening News.
Donnarumma: Done by Doue for the opening goal and then saw Akliouche's effort spin horribly past him but did save a penalty. 5
Khusanov: Much better at centre-back in the second half than he was at right-back in the first. 5
Dias: Part of a defence that self-destructed in the first half and was lucky not to concede more. 4
Guehi: Looked badly exposed as PSG were slicing through with ease, although he grew into the game. 5
Gvardiol: Such a threat going forward and stood up to help City get back into the game. 6
Anderson: Absolutely brilliant in the second half, having initially struggled. 7
Fernandez: Like Anderson, he was below par until he was suddenly everywhere and will feel he should have scored. 7
Cherki: Didn't stop trying to be creative in the final third but also made some poor decisions further back. 5
Semenyo: His running caused PSG plenty of problems but he was far from clinical and offside too often. 5
Doku: Marked out of the game whenever he got on the ball and taken off at half-time. 4
Haaland: Two goals to lead the fightback, he will feel he could have had more but went close on a number of occasions. 8
