According to Football Insider, Trent Alexander-Arnold could be tempted by a return to the Premier League as uncertainty continues to surround his future at Real Madrid. The England international has reportedly slipped down the pecking order under manager Jose Mourinho, leading to growing speculation about his long-term prospects at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Chelsea are said to be emerging as a possible destination should Alexander-Arnold decide to leave Madrid. The Blues are apparently monitoring the situation and could offer the 28-year-old a route back to English football.
A return to Liverpool has also been discussed, but the report suggests that remains unlikely due to the circumstances surrounding his departure in 2025. In theory, Alexander-Arnold would surely love to return to his boyhood club, but in reality, neither side is particularly keen to revisit that situation despite Liverpool’s need for reinforcements at right-back.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are said to view Alexander-Arnold as the type of high-profile signing capable of strengthening Xabi Alonso’s squad if the opportunity arises.
