The 2027 Tour de France Femmes is taking shape. At the presentation in Paris on Thursday, 22 October, organizers unveiled the nine stages of an edition that will (like the men's race) start in Great Britain and will end on the mythical Puy de Dôme.
The race will run from 30 July to 7 August 2027. The Tour de France Femmes will finish on the Puy de Dôme in 2027, after three demanding stages in the Massif Central and a start in Great Britain that will feature the race’s first team time trial. Race director Marion Rousse presented the route in Paris. The race will comprise nine stages, from Leeds to the famous ancient volcano.
Demi Vollering will have the chance to chase a third consecutive title. The route unveiled by organiser ASO also features two hilly opening stages in Great Britain, exposed roads around Calais and a flatter run to Bourges suited to the sprinters.
The Leeds–Manchester stage will open the race with three climbs and the first battle for the yellow jersey. The terrain could suit both puncheurs and sprinters able to handle the ascents.

The second stage, from Manchester to Sheffield, features seven climbs, including an 800-metre ascent averaging close to 11%, just six kilometres from the finish.
Stage 2 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes.
The 18 km team time trial through London will give the general classification favourites their first chance to gain time, before the climbing gets tougher in France.
London will host the first team time trial in the history of the modern Tour de France Femmes. The 18 km course will pass Westminster, St Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. It will bring the race’s three-stage visit to Great Britain to a close before the peloton crosses to France.
Stage 3 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes
The first French stage will link Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and Calais, with rolling terrain and an exposed final stretch along the roads of Cap Blanc-Nez. The area hosted Wout van Aert’s solo victory in the yellow jersey at the 2022 men’s Tour.
Stage 4 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes.
The fifth stage offers another chance for attacking racing, with a succession of climbs over the 161 km route to Magnanville and a demanding finish. These two stages will give breakaways and puncheurs more opportunities after the British opening.
Stage 5 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes
The flatter sixth stage from Orléans to Bourges will offer the clearest chance for a conventional bunch sprint on French soil. It will be the final stage before the route enters the Massif Central, where the remaining three days will feature significant climbing.
Stage 6 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes
The first summit finish comes on stage seven at La Loge des Gardes. Starting in Nevers, the peloton will tackle the 2.1 km Côte du Point du Jour at 8.6% before the final climb, which measures 6.7 km at an average gradient of 7.1%.
Stage 7 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes
The eighth stage packs six climbs into the route to Clermont-Ferrand. The city returns to the course after hosting the Grand Départ in 2023 and appearing again in 2025. This time, it will welcome the peloton on the eve of the decisive climb.
Stage 8 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes
The Puy de Dôme will host stage nine and the race’s final summit finish. After previous editions visited La Super Planche des Belles Filles, Col de la Madeleine and Mont Ventoux, the Auvergne volcano becomes the latest iconic climb to feature in the Tour de France Femmes.
