Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Rams learned that star wide receiver Davante Adams suffered a ruptured hamstring in the team's 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Adams will be out for six to 10 weeks, as he has to undergo surgery. The team has already placed him on injured reserve.
Even with Adams' extended absence, paired with Terrance Ferguson's stint on IR, the team isn't ready for a new face. Sean McVay told reporters that the Rams haven’t had any discussions about bringing in a new receiver.
The Rams did trade for Tutu Atwell before the season; thus, the team currently has six wide receivers on its active roster. Atwell is joined by Puka Nacua, Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington, Alex Bachman, and rookie CJ Daniels. The Rams also have four tight ends active.
Mumpfield played extensive snaps when Nacua missed two games earlier this season, having a career night against the Denver Broncos with four catches for 93 yards and one touchdown. Perhaps that's playing into the reason why the Rams aren’t seeking a trade yet.
