David Hall, the oldest competitor at this year’s Better Club Games, helped his team complete an impressive 3,350 metres in 45 minutes.
Still working as a lifeguard at Better’s Windrush leisure centres in Witney, Mr Hall continues to inspire others through his dedication to sport and fitness.
The games, held in Reading on October 7, brought together 66 competitors aged 60 and above.
South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, and West Oxfordshire were all represented at the event.
Participants competed in a range of activities including pickleball, table tennis, badminton, and short tennis.
Garfield Leung, representing South Oxfordshire and the Vale, only recently took up pickleball.
Mr Leung said: "I only started playing pickleball with my friends a few months ago in Didcot and Abingdon, and I have lost 8 kilos in weight.
"Today has been so much fun and I am glad I learnt to play."
Fellow team member Simon French praised the event.
Mr French said: "As one who has organised many tournaments in the past, I can appreciate the effort and organisation required.
"Well done team. Looking forward to next year (my body permitting!)."
West Oxfordshire won the swimming title, while South Oxfordshire and the Vale found success in the badminton heats.
Every participant received a medal in recognition of their involvement.
The event was organised by Better, the leisure brand operated by GLL.
