Brian McDermott’s side opens its bid for glory against Tonga in Perth on Saturday while holders Australia and 2008 champions New Zealand kicked off the tournament on Thursday.
Beaumont had hoped to see Leopards’ stars Umyla Hanley and Cronulla Sharks-bound Owen Trout in action.
Both, though, failed to make the cut, leaving Leigh representation with Papua New Guinea duo Edwin Ipape and Liam Horne; the latter set for a World Cup debut.
The Kumuls host Lebanon in Port Moresby on Saturday but will be without Leigh ace Lachlan Lam, who has opted to undergo pre-season wrist surgery in readiness for Super League 2027.
Before flying out and prior to his bombshell statement regarding his position on Super League’s proposed deal with the NRL, he explained: “I am fortunate enough to be attending most of the games in Australia.
“And I am looking forward to watching Edwin and Liam, whilst obviously supporting England in our fixture against them.
“I am also looking forward to meeting up with many friends who have been involved in the Club in the past.”
As is his way, he also teased the fans with another reason for flying halfway round the world.
“I will be taking my favourite pen with me,” he said.
“As we still have a bit of significant business to do with the two overseas spots we have available.”
Last month, Leopards confirmed Tevita Pangai Junior and remain linked with former star and ex-Super League Dream Teamer, Kai O’Donnell.
Leigh have also announced the arrival of Jack Purtill, 20, son of former Leigh player and coach, Kieron Purtill.
The youngster has come through the Academy systems at Wigan and Leeds and can cover hooker, half-back and loose forward.
Director of Rugby Andrew Henderson says: “We believe Leigh is a place where young players can thrive.
“We have experienced leaders within the squad, an excellent coaching team and a culture that encourages players to work hard, improve daily and earn their opportunities.
“We’re looking forward to helping Jack continue his development and supporting him on the next stage of his journey.”
*Leigh’s Super League status for next year has been confirmed with a Grade A score of 16.31 points out of 20, compared to 16.33 12 months ago.
Seven other clubs achieved the same grading, topped by Grand Final winners Wakefield on 17.85.
On the score Mr Beaumont said: “I hope everyone associated with the club is proud of where we have come in recent times.
“We will look to continue to drive our events and on-field performances to deliver for our fans and increase our score next year.”
