Martin O'Neill reckons Rangers have the advantage in the title race despite Celtic being top – and that's not exactly gone down well with Celtic fans on the Hotline...
Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, said: "I was disappointed in reading Martin O’Neill's negative comments in implying Rangers have an advantage over Celtic in the title race because of not qualifying for European football. I took out my package for all our home games and looking forward immensely to see how we compete against quality opposition."
The regular caller is not convinced with Kasper Hogh either as he added: "As far as the Kasper Hogh debate goes, we’ve tried everything to kickstart his career so as the last resort I’d suggest letting him wear a Bodo Glint jersey underneath his hoops shirt in Lisbon and see if that works."
One player who has convinced is Mika Baur who was even compared to Franz Beckenbauer on a recent edition of the Hotline, after he followed his call-up for Germany with a masterclass in Motherwell.
But Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, said: "I'd never heard of Mika Baur yesterday until I read the Hotline! Franz Beckenbauer was the Kaiser on the park, one of the greatest players of his generation and winner of many trophies with Bayern Munich which include three European cups, and two World Cups with West Germany as player and manager.
"He played as a sweeper setting up attacks, a superb passer of the ball, nobody today is in his class. Would be like comparing a Rolls-Royce to a Honda car."
Across the city at Rangers, confidence is high after their 3-1 win over Kilmarnock – even if it was a little unconvincing.
Steven Anderson, Coatbridge, said: "It wasn't vintage from Rangers against Kilmarnock but getting wins when not at 100 per cent is the sign of champions. I'm encouraged by what I've seen under McInnes – now it's time to overtake Celtic again and stay there this time!"
Paul Reilly, Larbert, wrote in: "You can't be electric all the time! Rangers did the damage in the first half against Kilmarnock and the second half was a case of managing the game and getting three points in the bag. No clean sheet was a disappointment but this is a mature team who know how to get wins over the line. That's in a row and I see 56 on the horizon..."
Elsewhere Aberdeen are mired in crisis once again after their defeat to St Johnstone stunted their revival under Stephen Robinson.
And Hugh McKirdy wants to see some youngsters given a chance as he said: "It's about time both Jack Milne and Mitchell Frame are given a run of games under the new regime.
"Both of them deserve a crack in what has been a mostly dismal start to the season. Frame in particular is aggressive going forward with pace which is sadly lacking from the side."
