Did Harry Kane win the Ballon d’Or? A cryptic social media post by FC Bayern has sparked plenty of speculation just a few days before the prestigious individual award ceremony. On Tuesday evening, the Munich club posted a photo of their star striker along with a telling message. The post immediately sparked discussions among numerous fans.

The Ballon d’Or will be awarded on October 26. Kane, too, has reason to hope for the coveted award. Since joining FC Bayern, the English national team player has been among Europe’s top scorers and has established himself as a potential contender for the title with his performances.

Now, of all teams, his own club has fueled the rumor mill.

Bayern post sparks Ballon d’Or speculation

On Tuesday evening, FC Bayern posted a photo of Kane in an elegant black tuxedo on its English-language X account. The Munich club captioned the post: “It’s almost showtime.”

The message was accompanied only by an hourglass emoji.

What initially looked like an ordinary social media post caused a stir among numerous fans. Many interpreted the photo and the wording as a possible hint at the upcoming Ballon d’Or ceremony.

One fan was already convinced and commented: “This confirms that Harry Kane has won the Ballon d’Or.”

Another user wrote “BALLON D’OR” three times in a row.

Speculation that Bayern might already know more about the outcome of the vote also made the rounds in the comments.

“They already know something about the upcoming Ballon d’Or,” speculated another fan.

Another fan went even further: “That means they’ve already told Kane that he’s won the Ballon d’Or.”

Does FC Bayern already have inside information?

Whether the post is actually related to the Ballon d’Or ceremony, however, remains entirely unclear. Still, the timing of the post is certainly striking. After all, the awards ceremony takes place as early as next Monday.

Thanks to his consistently strong performances, Kane is among the candidates considered to have a chance at the award.

Most recently, Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus also made his position clear. The record-holding national team player told dpa that, in his view, either Kane or his teammate Michael Olise must win the Ballon d’Or—“and no one else.”

For the English national team captain, the award would be another milestone in his career.

Whether the Munich-based club actually intended to drop a hidden hint with their post or was simply trying to draw attention remains a mystery for now.
