Oh what could have been! If Rhyne Howard hit that bucket, Angel Reese would have had the play of the WNBA Finals.
Reese caught an outlet pass that was thrown a little over her head. She reeled in the catch, saved it from going out of bounds and whipped a no-look, over-the-head pass to a cutting Howard, who was fouled on the play.
The energy at State Farm Arena had been off the charts for the Atlanta Dream vs. Golden State Valkyries during this epic Game 3, but the crowd would have went absolutely crazy if Howard converted that play.
Reese couldn't do anything but smile after the near-assist. She played lights out, scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the game.
Howard has had her best game of the series. She put up 16 points on 4-of-9 field goal shooting, adding 7-for-10 on free throws. She added three rebounds, four assists, five steals and a block.
