BBC presenter Martin Geissler has criticised songs coming from a section of the Hearts support during Sunday’s 7-1 defeat at Celtic Park.
The broadcaster, a Hearts supporter who attended the match in the away end, described what he heard as “excruciating and humiliating”.
Geissler stressed that those involved represented a small minority of the club’s wider support, but said they were vocal during the visit to Glasgow.
There is plenty more in our latest Celtic news and transfers coverage.
Writing on X, he said: “Some grim songs coming out of the Hearts support today. I was there, it was excruciating and humiliating.
“A small, small section of our support as a whole but vocal and well represented today.
“Proud to support the club I’ve always loved but get that stuff out. It’s awful.”

His criticism was directed at the behaviour of fellow supporters, with Geissler making clear that his affection for Hearts did not mean accepting everything heard in the away end.
On the pitch, Celtic handed the visitors a heavy defeat as Martin O’Neill’s side produced a ruthless attacking performance.
Callum Osmand scored twice on his first professional start, while Benjamin Nygren also netted a double.
Kieran Tierney, Camilo Duran and a Jamie McCart own goal completed Celtic’s scoring, with Laurent Mendy providing Hearts’ only reply.
But Geissler’s post raised a separate concern from the result: the songs he felt had embarrassed the support he was standing among.
