Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry had another 40+ point performance Saturday night, his second of the year. In eight games to begin the 2026-27 campaign, the former two-time MVP has scored 31 or more in four games, good for an average of 31.3 points per contest. In overtime against Orlando, Curry's 41-point game propelled him to history.
Curry's 40+ point performance was his 16th since turning 35 years old, a new NBA record. Prior to Saturday's game, Curry was tied with LeBron James of the Philadelphia 76ers with 15 such games. Additionally, Curry tied Oscar Robertson for the most career 40-point games, moving him up to eighth on the list alongside the former Hall of Famer. Curry (77) is third among active players in 40-point games, two behind LeBron James (79), who ranks second.
Tying Robertson is rather ironic, as Curry passed "The Big O" on the NBA's all-time scoring list in Thursday's win over Miami.
