Tony Bellew has delivered an honest verdict on Tyson Fury's punching power ahead of his blockbuster showdown against Anthony Joshua.

Fury vs Joshua is finally set for December 11 in Cardiff, Wales, with the WBA (super) world heavyweight title set to be on the line.

The self-proclaimed 'Gypsy King' is on a two-fight winning streak following back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

He outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov in April before stopping veteran Pole Mariusz Wach in a tune-up fight ahead of his all-British battle with Joshua, who survived a scare to beat Kristian Prenga in his last outing.

Despite both fighters being past their best, Fury vs Joshua has drummed up plenty of interest, with a boxer who has fought Fury and sparred Joshua revealing who he thinks will win.

'Tyson Fury Has Never Been a Puncher'

The 38-year-old has an impressive 36 victories to his name in the professional ranks, with 25 of them coming by way of knockout/TKO.

He has stopped the likes of Deontay Wilder (x2), Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora in his storied career.

But Bellew insists Fury is NOT a power puncher, claiming it is a 'fact'.

Speaking on Fight Your Corner, he argued: "Tell me who he’s knocked out in three rounds? The last time Tyson Fury knocked someone out in three rounds it has been that long, I can’t remember. It’s probably when he was facing a journeyman. Your opinion was that he’s a puncher. He’s never been a puncher. He’s never been a puncher."

Bellew added: "At no point in Tyson Fury’s career has he ever been a puncher. That’s not my opinion, that's a fact. The best Tyson Fury has been he beat Wladimir Kiltshcko. I don’t think anybody beats him that night."

Fury has teamed up with several famed coaches, including Ben Davison and SugarHill Steward, who is the star fighter's current head coach.

He was trained by Davison when he made his return to the sport in 2018 before hiring Steward in his corner.

The ex-world heavyweight champion was also once trained by his uncle, Peter Fury, who trained him to beat Wladimir Kiltshcko in 2015 in the shining moment of his career.

And Bellew believes Fury has become a 'weaker version' over the years, explaining how Steward's aggressive, counter-punching style has 'hurt' him.

The former WBC cruiserweight world champion said: "He then goes to Ben Davison and becomes a weaker version of the one Peter Fury trained. He then goes to Sugar Hill Steward, but he’s someone who implements a certain style, the Kronk style, an aggressive counter-punching style.

"This has hurt Tyson Fury because it’s got him believing he’s a puncher, and he’s never been a puncher. What he is, is heavy-handed."
