The next PGA Tour event is the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, set for Oct. 22-25 at Port Royal, and the field will be announced Friday, Oct. 15. But the tee sheet for the event the week after is quickly filling up.
The 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open is Oct. 29-Nov. 1 at VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit, just north of Puerto Vallarta. The tournament will have 120 players, including Wyndham Clark, Lucas Glover, Tony Finau, Brian Campbell, Max Homa, Ben Griffin, Rasmus Hojgaard, Akshay Bhatia and Nico Echavarria.
Clark gives the field a big name but many of the others are in this FedEx Cup Fall series event to chase points, as the race to the top 100 and a 2027 PGA Tour card is on.
The first official field release will come Friday, Oct. 22.
Here's a guess the players wives and/or girlfriends and kids will be along for the ride, as VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit is "home to Cirque du Soleil’s LUDÕ, a 360-degree, water-driven production staged in a theater built just for it," according to a tournament news release. And new to the resort in 2026 is BON, the "world’s first luxury theme park, an original universe inspired by Mexico’s nature, mythology and imagination."
The Mexico Open dates to 1944 and is the country's national championship. It's been a PGA Tour event since 2022. It was last played in February 2025 and has since moved to the Tour's fall series. It'll be the first of two consecutive weeks south of the border, with the World Wide Technology Championship to be played the following week in Cabo San Lucas.

With the tournament taking place over Halloween weekend, tournament organizers have arranged for Day of the Dead celebrations that bring Mexican culture, cuisine and tradition to players and visitors.
Also new for fans is a stadium venue at the 17th hole.
