Centre-half Liam Henderson was one of Falkirk's scorers against Hearts and tells BBC Scotland: "We know what it’s like to come to Tynecastle, so to score five goals is incredible.

"It’s always a good test here and it’s hard to get goals, even win, but the boys were brilliant and finished the game off in the first half.

“We’ve now got a good team spirit, a togetherness, and a will to work hard for your team-mates and we now have a ruthlessness up front as well.

“We’re breaking records this season and creating some history this season. A lot of pundits and fans were saying we weren’t the team we were last year.

"We know there is a long way to go, but we’ll keep our head down and look to keep our foot on the floor.

"[Manager John McGlynn] is massive to us. His knowledge, his detail. He’s so detailed in everything he does and it helps us massively

"I don’t score too many, but when I do, they’re always good goals."

Falkirk manager John McGlynn is delighted to have taken the three points against his former side.

"We were coming into the game on a high - four in a row and we had only lost one goal in the last four games," he tells BBC Scotland.

"So we were in a confident, feel-good factor mood and we got off to the best possible start.

"Our tails were up and we knew that would have a knock-on effect on Hearts, who came into the game with a lot of injuries.

"We were outstanding after that, we were so good, so clinical as well.

"Some really good goals. An absolutely outstanding performance in the first half.

"It is difficult to put two of them together, but that's difficult, but Hearts are at home and we have to anticipate them and we get off to another good start in the second.

"They changed their shape and we had to defend and thankfully we defended most things.

"Fair play to the lads, they saw it out and 5-2 - I'm biting your hand off for that."

John McGlynn avoided the manager of the month award curse to further enhance his reputation.

The 64-year-old has perhaps paid the price for his under-stated public persona.

He admits himself, though, that he has somewhat reinvented himself since an unsuccessful short spell in charge of Hearts.

It shows that old dogs can learn new tricks and the veteran has now steered his side to five straight wins and a third place that few would have predicted for such a provincial club, especially given an indifferent start to the season.

Falkirk substitute CJ Fodrey goes sliding into goalkeeper Beau Reus.

The striker was never getting there and both are left writhing in pain.

The American escapes with only a booking.

Is it down to character, player quality, or strength in depth?

Whatever it is, no side has recovered more points from losing positions in the Premiership this season than Celtic's seven.

Meanwhile, no side has lost more from winning positions in the division this term than Kilmarnock, also seven.

Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann tells BBC Scotland: "The line-up [with three strikers] reflects what we want to do. Obviously, we need to do our defensive jobs properly, but we've picked a side I think can start the game well, although we will need everybody today, including the subs.

"Celtic will have a lot of the ball and we will need to suck that up. If you want to alleviate that pressure, you need a bit of threat in terms of speed and Ieuan Owen certainly carries that. The wee man has been working hard and I thought it was time to let him loose."

On being bottom of the league, McCann adds: "In nearly every game we've played, we've played really well, but what's killed us is what we do in both boxes. If we do that well today, we have a chance of taking something from the game."

Celtic: Johnstone, Donovan, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Tierney, McGregor, Baur, Nygren, Jota, Hogh, Duran.

Substitutes: Sinisalo, Yang, McCowan, Osmand, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tounekti, Murray, Forrest, Ralston.

Kilmarnock: Mantl, Brandon, McCarthy, Stanger, Schjonning-Larsen, Tshibola, Lowery, Kiltie, Owen, John-Jules, Hugill.

Substitutes: Ferrie, Kamson-Kamara, Deas, McKenzie, Ring, Meier, Clescenco, Daniels, Rice.

Hearts head coach Vouter Wrancken tells BBC Scotland: "[Stephen Kingsley] has a scan tomorrow, but we knew he wouldn’t play today.

"The professor has said [Calvin Miller] could heal conservatively. Let’s hope it is like this with no reaction and he can progress like this and that would be good news.

"After the break, there will be a few coming back, but again it will be a cruel schedule for us so I will have to manage that."

With 11 players sidelined through injury, the Belgian adds: "I'm not happy with the schedule, especially the run of games, with only two days recovery in between. I've never saw that before, because everybody in sports science and performance knows you can’t have recuperation in two days.

"Three days you can, with no knocks or injuries when you take care of your body and the right food. Two days is not enough, I’ve never saw four games in a row with two days off. It will always be a cruel schedule, but the health of the players is the priority.

"In this case, it is not the priority."
