After a thrilling first five games, matchweek 2 of the the Indian Super League is underway. Here's a quick recap of how the fixtures from the second matchweek, with the latest match report up first.

Punjab FC 1-1 Mumbai City FC

(Gurkirat Singh 90' , Leandro Otormin 63')

Punjab FC held Mumbai City FC to a 1-1 draw in Delhi after Gurkirat Singh's late equalizer rescued a point for the hosts.

Uruguayan striker Leandro Otormin put Mumbai City ahead from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, before former Mumbai City FC attacker Gurkirat scored his first goal for the club, heading home in the 90th minute.

Punjab began with high-intensity pressing, and the match quickly turned into a physical contest. The visitors were forced into making an early change, with Vikram Partap Singh making way for Farukh Chaudhary after a tackle involving Rishikanta Meitei left the Mumbai City FC man unable to continue. Punjab made a change of their own in the 36th minute, with Bishu Singh taking Meitei's place.

Mumbai started the second half on the front foot even as Punjab made another change ten minutes into the second period, bringing on Gurkirat Singh for youngster Vishal Yadav. The visitors then broke the deadlock just past the hour mark when Bijoy Varghese stepped on PN Noufal's ankle in the box, earning a penalty. Otormin converted from 12 yards out, with his spot kick hammering past the reach of Arshdeep.

Manolo Marquez made a double change four minutes later, with Tluanga replacing Brandon and Wilmar Jordan coming on for Otormin. Punjab responded with two changes in personnel soon after, bringing on Sanathoi Meitei and Arshvir Singh for Muhammad Suhail and Diego Raposo. The substitutions would soon pay off for the hosts, with Sanathoi's inch perfect cross into the box from the left finding Gurkirat unmarked. The striker rose to head home against his former club, earning his first goal for Punjab and the hosts a share of the points.

NorthEast United 4-1 Kerala Blasters

(Alaaeddine Ajaraie 15' and 70', Antonio Moyano 45+4', Aman CK 82nd'; Momo Yansane 60' )

NorthEast United FC rode on a brace from Alaaeddine Ajaraie to beat Kerala Blasters FC 4-1 in Guwahati. Ajaraie scored in the 15th and 70th minutes for the Highlanders. Antonio Moyano (45+4) and debutant Aman CK (82nd) were also on the scoresheet for the home side.

NorthEast United broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, as Eneko Satrustegui's needled pass found Ajaraie through on goal. The Moroccan made no mistake, rounding Arsh Anwer in the Kerala goal before slotting home without fuss.

The Blasters looked to respond through striker Andre Green, whose effort in the 38th minute was blocked by Satrustegui. Only moments later, defender Amey Ranawade's attempt to convert Adrián Luna's cross went in vain as his effort failed to test Gurmeet Singh in the NorthEast United goal.

The hosts capitalised on their attacking momentum deep into first-half stoppage time, as Antonio Moyano doubled the advantage. Ajaraie, whose initial shot was blocked by Hormipam Ruivah, recovered possession and slipped the Spaniard into space before the midfielder's effort found the back of the net.

Kerala Blasters made two changes at the break, bringing on Korou and Sandeep Singh for Ranawade and Hormipam. But it was the hosts who continued to push forward, prompting Arsh to make crucial saves to deny Moyano and Jithin.

The Blasters reduced the deficit against the run of play and at the hour mark, when Yansane converted a flick from Luna with a low drive past Gurmeet to make it 2-1.

NorthEast United restored their two-goal cushion soon after, when Ajaraie scored his second goal, capitalising on a poor clearance from Korou. The striker's curling effort from the edge of the box was met by Arsh, but it wasn't enough to keep it off target.

NorthEast United put the result beyond doubt when Aman scored their fourth and final goal, converting a pass from Macarton to make it 4-1.

Churchill Brothers 0-4 East Bengal

(Ramirez 2', Edmund 45', Bipin 85' 90')

East Bengal produced a statement win in their first game back as defending champions, romping to a 4-0 win away to Churchill Brothers, with Bipin Singh scoring a late brace.

East Bengal wasted no time in taking the lead as Dani Ramírez's wand of a left foot curled a free-kick into the top corner with two minutes on the clock. Churchill almost hit back soon after, when Vincy Barretto played a lovely through ball to Wayde Lekay, who timed his run to perfection on the right side of the box and he produced a superb cross to John Okoli on the far post, but his first-time shot across goal clattered off the woodwork.

Churchill remained a threat throughout the half, with Lekay blasting over from a narrow angle. The hosts' profligacy came back to haunt them on the stroke of half-time as David Hmar's quick feet in the box saw him work a yard of space and he cut the ball back for an onrushing Edmund Lalrindika to lash home and make it 2-0 to East Bengal going into the break.

Churchill remained a constant threat even in the second half, but lacked the finishing touch. East Bengal almost made them pay in the 70th minute, when Ramirez put Edmund through on goal, and he squared it for PV Vishnu to tap it into an open goal, but he blazed over from close range.

The defending champions did finish off the game in the 85th minute, when Bipin Singh cut inside from the right wing and curled a powerful striker with his left foot into the opposite top corner. Five minutes later, Bipin tapped home from close range after Vishnu's low cross from the left to make it 4-0 and seal the win.

Bengaluru FC 2-0 Chennaiyin FC

(Williams 24', Perovic 52')

Bengaluru FC made it two wins in two at the start of the new ISL season, as they beat Chennaiyin FC 2-0 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday evening.

It was a game that took some time to warm up in the Bengaluru rain, but when it did, it was Bengaluru who took the lead midway through the first half. Mihailo Perovic played Borja Martínez through on the left, his shot was saved by Mohammed Nawaz, but the rebound fell to Ryan Williams in front of goal, and with the goalkeeper prone from the first save, even a mishit was enough to Williams his first goal of the season.

Chennaiyin had loads of shots from long range, but their game plan of crossing the ball into the BFC area just didn't work, as Menon Koch and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu were at their commanding best. Bengaluru's lead increased early in the second half, after a Martinez cross was inexplicably left alone by Nawaz to give Perovic an easy tap-in from a yard out for his first goal for Bengaluru.

Bengaluru saw out the remainder of the game with consummate ease, and have a perfect six points from six.

Inter Kashi 1-1 Odisha FC

(Huidrom 89' - Chaudhari 56' OG)

Inter Kashi fought back late in the second half to secure a 1-1 draw against Odisha FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Saturday. An own goal by Inter Kashi defender Pratik Chaudhari handed Odisha the lead in the 56th minute, before Thoi Singh Huidrom struck to ensure the points were shared. Both sides looked for an early breakthrough, with Inter Kashi testing Odisha's defence through Sajad Parray and Wayne Vaz in the opening 15 minutes. Parray's left-footed effort from outside the box went wide, while Vaz also missed the target after being set up by Jitendra Singh.

Odisha FC responded with chances of their own. Rahim Ali's effort from the left side of the box was blocked in the 22nd minute, while the visitors continued to threaten from set pieces. Rahim had another opportunity in first-half stoppage time but sent his shot wide, as the teams went into the break goalless.

Inter Kashi started the second half on the front foot, with attempts from Rosenberg Gabriel and Wayne Vaz blocked by the Odisha defence. However, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 56th minute when Pratik Chaudhari inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

Odisha came close to doubling their lead in the 76th minute when Mahmoud Eid connected with a pass from Lalrinfela Khiangte, but Inter Kashi goalkeeper Albino Gomes produced a save to keep his side in the contest. Inter Kashi's persistence paid off late in the second half. Following a set-piece situation, Thoi Singh found space in the centre of the box and fired a left-footed effort into the bottom-left corner to level the score at 1-1. Inter Kashi pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but Aritra Das's direct free-kick sailed high and wide. Neither side could find a decisive goal, and the contest ended in a draw, with Inter Kashi earning a late point.

SC Delhi 1-2 Mohun Bagan

(Hnamte 23' - Erwin 56', Miguel 60')

Mohun Bagan earned their first win of the Indian Super League season thanks to a second half comeback win away to SC Delhi, courtesy a five-minute spell that saw Lee Erwin and Miguel Figueira find the net.

Bagan were the dominant force at the start of the game, with Miguel Figueira creating panic in the Delhi defence with a low cross, but Lee Erwin could not get to it. The hosts grew into the game, with Juan Pena and Rodriguinho forcing Vishal Kaith into a couple of saves.

It was Lalrinliana Hnamte who was the difference maker in the first half, as he beat the offside trap after a lovely clip forward from Manoj Mohammed, controlled with his chest before beating the onrushing Kaith with a calm finish to put Delhi up in the 23rd minute. Delhi kept having pot-shots at goal as the half progressed, but Erwin ought to have equalized for Bagan on the stroke of half-time, but sent a volley over the bar.

Anirudh Thapa continued Bagan's profligacy in front of goal in the second half, after being put through by Dejan Drazic but he shot wide. Mohammed Aimen could have doubled Delhi's lead after a superb driving run through the middle, but Kaith pulled off a great save from the resulting shot.

Bagan finally equalized in the 56th minute, after Thapa's low cross from the right was touched onto Erwin by Rahul Bheke, and the Scottish striker could not miss from two yards out. The comeback was complete on the hour mark, when Apuia produced a mazy run through the middle, before sliding Miguel through on goal and the Brazilian responded with a curled finish into the opposite bottom corner. Delhi huffed and puffed in search of the equalizer but Bagan held them off, with Sahal Abdul Samad, Liston Colaco and Manvir Singh going close late on, but it mattered not as the Kolkata giants walked away with the win.

Punjab FC 2-1 Odisha FC

(Bouli 1', 90+5' - Moirangthem 15')

Raphael Messi Bouli scored the winner with virtually the last kick of the game, as Punjab FC broke Odisha FC hearts to open their ISL campaign with a 2-1 win, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.

It was Messi Bouli's second goal that settled the game at the death, after he had got his first with less than a minute played. Punjab took the lead 42 seconds into the game, as a flowing team move from back to front ended with a perfect low cross from Muhammad Uvais to the big striker at the back-post, who rolled into an open goal from close range.

Punjab used that momentum to flood forward, and had a couple of other early chances through Alfred Planas, but it was Odisha who got the equaliser in the 15th minute. Thoiba Singh was left completely unmarked from a Puitea corner, and he headed into the bottom left corner, as Punjab goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh barely moved.

At the start of the second half, Punjab missed two huge chances, one a close range volley from Planas after a cross from Muhammad Suhail, and then Diego Raposo was denied by a superb Hrithik Tiwari save, after being sent through on goal by Ricky Shabong.

Odisha had a huge chance off a set-piece in the 80th minute, after Rahim Ali glanced on Puitea's corner to Stephen Eze, whose header was blocked by Messi Bouli.

In the end, Punjab will feel like their win was deserved, particularly given how much they created in the second half, and Messi Bouli has given them the three points in their opening game of the season.
