The captain of India Women - Smriti Mandhana says that they would have batted first as well, citing the good conditions. The stand-in skipper of Zimbabwe Women - Nomvelo Sibanda, on the decision to bat first, says they want to put runs on the board without scoreboard pressure and back their batters to do the job. On the absence of full-time captain Nkomo, Sibanda reveals that Josephine is carrying a slight niggle. On Zimbabwe's approach to the series, she stresses that they are looking to carry the positive momentum from the game Zimbabwe won last month into this series as well.
