Jimmie Rivera picked up the latest win of his glittering combat sports career on Saturday night.
The former UFC fighter, who is now a full-time police officer, competed in the co-main event of BKFC 95.
In a curious piece of matchmaking, Jimmie Rivera was booked to face a man who has served 12 years in prison.
The MMA landscape is arguably in the best position its ever been in with there being several big options outside of the UFC.
Jimmie Rivera’s fight with Brandon Meyer was billed as a classic cop vs. criminal matchup.
Both men played into their roles in the lead-up to BKFC 95 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
“He gets to beat me up and not get arrested for it, so it’s a win-win,” Rivera said during his final pre-fight interview on Friday.
Ultimately, Rivera subdued his opponent in the fourth round of their eagerly anticipated fight at BKFC 95.
Meyer was left face-down on the floor after being brutally knocked out cold by a huge left hook.
