Erling Haaland did what Erling Haaland does on Saturday — score two goals — but Manchester City’s star striker limped off and quickly exited the pitch at full-time after beating Ipswich Town 3-2.
The injury appeared to occur deep in stoppage time when Haaland attempted a side-volley off a long pass over the top. He chested it down and swung his left foot through the ball, however Jack Clarke got in the way and blocked the shot and Haaland’s shin seemed to catch Clarke’s boot on the follow-through.
Haaland had another goal, a stunning strike that would have completed his hat trick, ruled out for offside in the 85th minute. He wasn’t the only Man City player limping after the final whistle, as Antoine Semenyo looked to be slightly uncomfortable as well, though he didn’t dart for the tunnel as quickly as Haaland.
