Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison will not be injured for long after being taken off against Chelsea. Just after half time, Maddison sunk into the turf with a suspected groin issue.
Injuries have limited him to just nine Premier League appearances in two seasons. After he limped off during the 2-0 victory over the Blues, there were fears his injury issues had struck again.
However, it's now understood the injury he picked up is not serious, unlike the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury which tormented him. Whether he will be fit enough to feature against Crystal Palace this weekend is a different question.

The Sun report that his latest issue is not severe. At present, it's currently too soon to ascertain whether he can feature against the Eagles this weekend.
After the win at Stamford Bridge, Roberto De Zerbi admitted the club are paying extra attention to Maddison and team-mate Dejan Kulusevski, who has also been limited to a handful of appearances over the last two seasons because of injury.
De Zerbi said: "I hope he didn't feel a big problem, but we have to make a medical check. Maddison and Kulusevski, we have to manage them like two diamonds, because both are special players, both have different personalities."

Maddison has been influential for Spurs since the end of the international break. He scored a wonderful goal in the 3-1 home victory over Coventry and looked impressive against Chelsea, before his match was cut short.
At the end of last season, Maddison admitted he has endured some "dark days" as a result of his injury issues, which began in the 2025 Europa League semi-final, when he partially tore his ACL against Bodo/Glimt. Looking back on the experience last May, he said: "I was told by the [external] specialist it wouldn't need surgery and rehab.
"Then obviously it wasn't strong, it didn't recover properly and I needed the full surgery which is what happened in South Korea. That being said, that was still an amazing moment which will live with me forever that reception I got.

"There have been some dark days in the last year, especially since the surgery. It has been a really tough year for me mentally but I'm at the end of the tunnel now so I can kind of look back on that with fondness because I'm as mentally strong as I can be after going through that.
"Physically I feel really good, so the moment personally is something that will live with me forever the reception Spurs fans gave me."
Spurs' victories over Coventry and Chelsea have propelled them up to 14th, when they were staring the prospect of another relegation battle in the face.
