According to SPORT, Getafe are considering a move for former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos after already making headlines with the signing of Dani Carvajal.
Getafe president Angel Torres has confirmed that discussions have taken place with Rene Ramos, the defender’s brother and agent, regarding a possible transfer. While the veteran centre-back is not currently the club’s top priority, Getafe have not ruled out the possibility of bringing him to the Coliseum.
Torres acknowledged that manager Jose Bordalas would prefer reinforcements in wide positions, with the squad already well stocked in central defence. However, he admitted that Ramos remains on the club’s shortlist and could become a more realistic target if circumstances change in the coming months. The January transfer window may provide another opportunity for Getafe to revisit the deal.
Ramos, now 40, has been without a club since leaving Mexican side Monterrey at the end of 2025. A move to Getafe would see him return to Spanish football and reunite with former Real Madrid teammate Carvajal, who recently signed a contract with the club until June 2027.
