Florida State running back Ousmane Kromah was injured in the rivalry game vs. Miami, and needed to have an air cast placed on him. Injury updates:
Running back Ousmane Kromah, one of the driving forces behind the Florida State football offense, left the Seminoles' game late in the second quarter of their rivalry game against No. 3 Miami after suffering what appeared to be a lower leg injury.
The injury occurred at the end of a 9-yard run from Kromah that advanced his team to the Hurricanes' 2-yard line with 1:53 remaining in the first half.
On the next play, Seminoles quarterback Ashton Daniels had a 2-yard touchdown run to pull Florida State even with Miami, 14-14. Daniels also held up a 3-2 on his fingers in honor of his running back.
Kromah had 44 rushing yards on 14 carries prior to his injury. This season, he has a team-high 609 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
Here's the latest on Kromah's injury:
At the end of his run inside the Miami 5-yard line, and after barreling over a Miami defender, Kromah was tackled by Hurricanes linebacker Chase Smith. As Kromah was brought down, one of his legs got caught under Smith and twisted at an awkward-looking angle.
Kromah initially tried getting up, but quickly went back down on the turf in intense pain. His left leg was placed in an air cast and a cart was brought out onto the field to transport Kromah off.
Before the cart drove off the field, Florida State's entire team gathered around the injured running back to console a visibly emotional Kromah.
With Kromah's help, the Seminoles were tied with Miami, 14-14, at halftime. Florida State entered the game as a 21-point underdog.
