Rotherham United make the trip to the Borough of Wyre on Saturday to take on Fleetwood Town at the Highbury Stadium.
The Fishermen
Fleetwood are currently in sixteenth place in League Two on eleven points coming into this game on the back of a one-all home draw with Walsall last weekend. They also got a good home result in the EFL Trophy against League One side Barnsley scoring four second half goals to beat them four-one.
Speaking to Radio Lancashire Town’s Head Coach Matt Lawlor said, ‘Rotherham are an unbelievably athletic team and I’m expecting a really well drilled, athletic football team, full of good footballers. I’m thinking about this weekend, how I can change it on sixty minutes and different scenarios, being one nil up or one nil down. Subs are a massive part of it and have changed quite a few games for us this year. We want to win on home soil.’
Injuries
Andy Cannon and Kane Thompson-Sommers have both been out since August and are doubts for this game but Crispin McLean could make this game after being sidelined since mid-September.
The Millers
The Millers sit four places below Fleetwood although there is just one point between them in the table. Getting back to winning ways must be the Millers priority after losing their three games in October and shipping nine goals. Despite going ahead at home to Gillingham last Saturday the visitors came back to score four times with their home Trophy game to Bradford saw City win four-nil. Their last away game was at Exeter where City scored the only goal of the game.
‘We’ve had a bad week,’ Millers Head Coach Alex Bruce told Radio Sheffield, ‘but I’m trying to stay positive and I’ve got full confidence in the players that we’ve brought in. The way the group have trained all week has been excellent and hopefully they can take something out of that and put it into practice on Saturday because when you go away to Fleetwood you have to show that fight.’
Injuries
Rotherham have two long term injured in Fabio Tavares and Ewan Otoo but there could be good news regarding George Sebine who might make the travelling squad. Klaidi Lolos was also thought to be fit to travel but a set-back in training might keep him out.
The referee on Saturday will be Steven Copeland from Merseyside.
