An NFL team has made their feelings clear on playing in the UK beyond 2026 as the London games come to an end for the year.

Wembley Stadium plays host to the Jacksonville Jaguars vs the Houston Texans on Sunday, rounding off the 2026 NFL London Games.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosted the Indianapolis Colts vs the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles vs the Jaguars earlier this month.

Liam Coen's team returns to the English capital for their Week 6 game against the Texans this time at Wembley Stadium, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence hailing his side's 'strong connection' to London following their dramatic victory over the Eagles last Sunday.

"I feel like we have a strong connection and tie to London," he said. "We’ve been playing here for a long time. Who knows if that will change?"

Well, the Jaguars' annaul visit across the pond could soon be coming to an end.

Before the new season, the team said that they are going to 'totally re-evaluate' their London strategy.

Since 2013, the Jaguars, who are owned by Shahid Khan, who also owns Premier League club Fulham, have established a second home in the UK, having played at least one game in London during every single NFL season other than 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They voluntarily give up a home game in Florida each season to play abroad because it generates significant financial revenue for the franchise.

But their financial motivation to play in London each year will decrease when their stadium renovation in Jacksonville is complete, which is expected to be in time for the 2028 season.

Construction has started at EverBank Stadium, which has made many seating areas inaccessible and has them playing in front of smaller crowds in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars' affiliation with London might come to a halt in the next couple of years as team president Mark Lamping plans to stop giving up a home game when their stadium renovations are complete for the 2028 season.

"I mean, the only thing we know for certain as we sit here today, we know that we're going to play one game, a minimum of one game in London next year. Well, let me back up. We know we're going to play one international game next year, okay, because next year we owe the NFL a game," he said ahead of the Jaguars' fixture against the Texans at Wembley Stadium.

Lamping added: "I think the likelihood of three games [overseas] in 2027 is — I think it's remote.

"I'm not going to shy away by any stretch of the imagination. If there's a natural year where you probably want to play every home game in Jacksonville, it would be the year you open the new stadium."

The Jaguars have not made any official announcements about their long-term plans in London and any potential changes might not take effect until 2028.
