Christian Walton - 7
Made some smart stops, including two from well-struck rising Ruben Dias efforts from outside the box, was calm under pressure with ball at his feet and clipped some nice long balls up to halfway. Should he have kept out Haaland's header having got a hand to it? Maybe. Ultimately another solid showing.
Dara O'Shea - 7
Right side of a new-look back three. More defensive actions than any player on the pitch. Helped get the team up field in the latter stages.
Issa Diop - 6
A mixed bag at the heart of a back three. Lots of occasions where he read danger superbly, but others where he was a split second off it.
Jacob Greaves - 6
Brought back into the team as part of the formation switch. Made some big last-ditch blocks.
Abdoul Ouattara - 6
Left too much space for City to exploit in behind at times, was outmuscled by Erling Haaland for the host's third goal and sliced a good chance wide. Did produce a superb bending pass up the line for Daizen Maeda's equaliser though. Will have learnt a lot from this battle with Jeremy Doku.
Florentino Luis - 5
Stayed in the team because of Sasa Lukic being injured. Times where he stepped in to make vital long-legged interventions, but also moments where the Portuguese was a fraction off the pace and sloppy - City's second a prime example. Clearly still getting up to full match fitness.
Exequiel Palacios - 7 (TOWN MOTM)
Back in the starting line-up having changed the Fulham game off the bench. Argentine covered plenty of ground, made tackles, had more touches than any team-mate and looked after the ball well.
Leif Davis - 6
Had to play deeper than usual and had some challenging moments against the tricky Iliman Ndiaye. Far from perfect on the ball, but played some searching passes and delivered some teasing dead ball deliveries.
Daizen Maeda - 7
Played as a right-sided No.10 and used his acceleration to press high when appropriate. Took his equaliser brilliantly, bodying Marc Guehi before giving Gianluigi Donnarumma the eyes with a reverse finish. First Premier League goal will give him confidence.
Julio Enciso - 6
Hit and miss in the first half, but the Paraguayan provided some forward thrust after the restart. He whipped up the away end after winning a corner, while another driving run led to a Ouattara chance.
Emersonn - 6
Brazilian produced some strong/deft back to goal play when long balls were banged up to him. One driving run from halfway was also impressive. Should have done better with an unmarked close-range header at a corner.

Introduced with fellow striker Flemming at the same time once again. Strong in the air.
