When the Cleveland Browns gave Deshaun Watson the QB1 role to start the season, no one could have expected them to be in the thick of the playoff race five games into the season. However, it’s been far from a smooth road for this Browns offense.

When the Cleveland Browns gave Deshaun Watson the QB1 role to start the season, no one could have expected them to be in the thick of the playoff race five games into the season. However, it’s been far from a smooth road for this Browns offense.

Among the biggest disappointments to start the year has been the production (or lack thereof) from Jerry Jeudy. Once seen as someone with legitimate WR1 potential, his numbers have fallen consistently enough to ring alarm bells. Now, one insider believes a change of scenery could be in the offing.

Insider Believes Browns Are Entertaining Trades for Jerry Jeudy

A first-round pick back in 2020 for the Denver Broncos, Jeudy failed to take off in Mile High City. As a result, he joined the Browns in 2024, but the Jeudy experience has been a mixed bag.

This season, things have taken a turn for the worse. Through five games, he has tallied eight receptions for 81 receiving yards with no touchdowns. As the Browns turn their focus to a younger receiving core around Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion, it appears Jeudy is becoming a bit expendable.

Jordan Schultz confirmed the speculation during an appearance on “The Ross Tucker Podcast.” He claims that word around the NFL is that Jeudy is available for the right price, with the Browns looking to ship the 27-year-old receiver.

“He’s owed $18 million next year, but it’s all non-guaranteed money basically. He had a big game against Pittsburgh (3 catches, 36 yards), and then he only plays 24 snaps in their last game, which is strange because he played well against the Steelers, and Concepcion goes out with a concussion, and he’s still not really used in that game.”

To that point, Pro Football Reference clocks the number at 55 snaps, approximately 81% of Cleveland’s total against the Jets.

As a result, he believes the Browns are advertising their desire to part ways with the veteran wide receiver, and he believes a few teams might come calling.

“So that’s a name I would look at as, teams know he’s available. They’ve wanted a third- or fourth-round pick. I’m not sure they’ll get it, but it’s pretty well known around the league that Jerry Jeudy is available.”

For teams that do decide to pursue a trade for Jeudy, the hope will be that he can once again find the form that made him so dynamic in 2024. Ranked at #27 in PFN’s Wide Receiver Impact Metric, he tallied 1,229 yards and four touchdowns that year.

If he can get back to that level of production, he could be a valuable asset for a team looking to add to the offense.
