During his postgame press conference, Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker recapped his two-touchdown performance in Week 6 | @EdEastonJr
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III spoke with reporters after the Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. He recapped his two-touchdown performance.
“The 33-yarder was pretty open. Jake (Briningstool) came across and kicked out; there was a lane, I took the angle, and I scored,” said Walker. “On the second one, I was going right but saw that the left was open. Pat (Mahomes) came down, made a block, and I just dove over the defender.”
Walker rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns, making him the third player in the Super Bowl era with at least two touchdowns in four of his team’s first five games of a season, joining Emerson Boozer and Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson.
“I just want to get better as the years go on; you always want to learn,” said Walker. “So, definitely having those guys in my corner makes it a lot easier.”
Walker, who has 760 scrimmage yards and eight scrimmage touchdowns this season, is the sixth player all-time with at least 750 scrimmage yards and eight scrimmage touchdowns in his first five games of a season, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Emmitt Smith, and Chiefs legend Priest Holmes.
