ESPN "College GameDay" college football expert Rece Davis saw his No. 1 ranked team lose for a fourth consecutive week. Davis' previous No. 1, the BYU Cougars, lost in overtime to UCF after a controversial officiating decision.
Davis is a voter the AP Poll and now ranks the Miami Hurricanes as his No. 1 team after a wild Week 8 with several major upsets. After Miami, he has the Ohio State Buckeyes as the No. 2 team. He dropped BYU to No. 3, which is much higher than most voters, but that does make some sense. BYU just beat Notre Dame two weeks ago, yet many voters are already ranking Notre Dame over BYU.
Notre Dame is Davis' No. 4 team. Indiana checks in at No. 5 after earning a narrow 13-6 overtime win over Michigan. Georgia is ranked No. 6 ahead of undefeated Utah, Kentucky, UCLA and LSU.
Week 9 should be another entertaining week with Georgia playing Florida, Ohio State playing at USC, Miami playing at North Carolina and other great matchups. Davis and the GameDay team are attending the Minnesota at Indiana game on Saturday, Oct. 31.
