After it was revealed on Monday's edition of "WWE Raw" that John Cena will be making an appearance live on the red brand next week, Tuesday's episode of "WWE NXT" also saw the news that the "Never Seen 17" will be appearing on the show next week. The news comes after reports that WWE is trying to load up the show, as it's set to go head-to-head with "AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts" due to election coverage Tuesday on the CW Network.
Commentary revealed on the show that Cena will be live at the WWE Performance Center next week, and the graphic and clip were also posted to WWE's X (formerly Twitter) account. Following the "Raw" announcement, Cena himself took to social media to announce that his appearances are related to the John Cena Classic, a tournament where, according to the star, "NXT" talent will go up against main roster stars, and fans will vote for a standout.
"The wait is over, the speculation ends 11/2. Let's build this 'Never Seen' CLASSIC! OUR time is NOW!" Cena posted to X on Tuesday morning.
If Cena is clarifying just what the John Cena Classic is on "Raw," it's likely he could announce "NXT" competitors, or how stars can win their way into the tournament, on Tuesday. The former Undisputed WWE Champion first announced the tournament bearing his name, with few details, leaving fans to speculate, at WWE Backlash in May. Since then, Cena has remained mum on specifics, but has touted the tournament and its uniqueness in various interviews.
