Wales will face Norway, who are managed by former Wales boss Grainger, in the second round of the Women’s World Cup play-offs.
Norway sealed their place with a dominant 6-0 defeat of Romania, which confirmed an 8-0 aggregate success.
Rhian Wilkinson’s Wales made sure of a 4-0 aggregate victory over Albania, with the hosts triumphing 3-0 at Llanelli last night.
It was a special night for Mayzee Davies (pictured), who spent over a year on the sidelines as she fought back from a serious ACL injury.
It was Davies who opened the scoring with her first goal for her country, heading in at the back post in the 34th minute from Lily Woodham’s delivery.
Other goals came from Elise Hughes and Hannah Cain.
Even if Wales get past Norway in November and December they might even have to negotiate an inter-confederation play-off in February to reach the finals in Brazil.
