Denver Nuggets wing Julian Strawther will miss at least six weeks due to a sprained left knee. Strawther will be re-evaluated in six weeks, which works out to the end of November.
Strawther suffered the injury in the Nuggets preseason game on Wednesday. As he tried to deal with a double-team, Strawther's left leg twisted awkwardly and he had to be helped off the floor. The original fears were that the fourth-year wing could be out for the season. A diagnosis of a sprain is good news for Strawther and the Nuggets.
This season, the Nuggets were counting on Strawther to fill a rotation role. He's been able to hold a spot in the rotation throughout his first three seasons. With Peyton Watson, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown gone from last year's team, Denver was hoping for Strawther to pair with new addition DeMar DeRozan to fill spots in the team's perimeter rotation.
