It was a huge win for Alessio Dionisi's side, which has propelled the Hornets four points clear of the relegation zone, as they climb to 20th in the Championship.
Stephy Mavididi's deflected strike seconds after halftime was the difference, but it was the hard-fought battle which got the three points over the line.
Here is a look at how the Watford players have reacted in the hours since the much-needed victory at the Vic.
Tuesday's match-winner spoke to the media following the game, and reflected on the win and accompanying performance.
"We’re happy for the three points," he said. "We knew it wasn’t going to be the prettiest of games, but we stuck together and showed resilience and personality, and we’re happy with the victory.
“There’s been a lot of outside noise, but us, internally, we said that only us players can change our situation, so we had to put in a professional performance, a performance worthy of winning, and that was what we did today.”
The 28-year-old also took to Instagram to share a series of photos from the match, including of his goal, and wrote: "His timing His work His glory."
Club captain Mattie Pollock also took to Instagram to comment on the win, but the defender was quick to insist that the Hornets are focused on Saturday's game at home to league leaders Middlesbrough.
Myron Boadu may not have been involved in the goal-scoring this time, but the Dutch striker was quick to praise the win, and specifically the club's supporters.
After starting in the win, Iker Bravo reflected on a "good effort" which got the win over the line, and urged the team to keep pushing ahead of Saturday's test against Middlesbrough.
Plenty of other players have reacted by sharing news of the win, and there have been plenty of comments from the squad on the aforementioned social media posts!
