Jon Rahm and LIV Golf have finalised a separation agreement, featuring specific stipulations should he opt to join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods' TGL project.

The former World No. 1 and LIV Golf agreed that Rahm would surrender his monetary and financial claims in return for regaining his name, image and likeness rights along with other associated marks, according to court documents.

Under the terms of the separation arrangement, Rahm forfeited all equity and membership interests linked to his LIV Golf team. In return, Rahm now possesses full authority over his name, image, and likeness rights.

LIV Golf has pledged to transfer ownership of both the "Rahmbo" and "Legion XIII" trademarks back to him. It follows McIlroy's revelation about Ryder Cup friendships he's sacrificed because of LIV Golf.

Nevertheless, he's barred from employing the Legion XIII brand in rival leagues such as TGL, having pulled out of plans to take part in the maiden 2024 season, reports the Mirror US, reports the Irish Star.

LIV Golf will maintain full ownership of all archived media and historical footage showing Rahm from his stint with the circuit.

The two-time major champion stands as LIV Golf's largest unsecured creditor, being owed $7.5 million when LIV Golf filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Upon his switch from the PGA Tour to the league in December 2023, he reportedly negotiated a multi-year deal worth over $300 million.

He accumulated nearly $107 million in prize money during his time with LIV Golf, and notified the organisation of his exit mere days ago. "Mr. Rahm has independently reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0 and has determined that those terms are unacceptable to him, and he will not be participating going forward in LIV 2.0," his attorney said.

Under the settlement arrangement, Rahm will drop all legal proceedings against LIV Golf and its associated entities. His existing agreements with the organisation will be terminated, freeing him completely from future commitments and any performance duties.

If Rahm wishes to return to the PGA Tour, the timeframe for his possible comeback remains unclear, as PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp confirmed that the Returning Member Programme will not be offered once more.

The Returning Member Programme previously allowed Brooks Koepka, Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, and Cameron Smith to return with significant financial penalties. Five-time major champion Koepka was the only participant to successfully fulfil the programme requirements.

Players are confronting an Oct. 25 deadline to determine whether they'll participate in LIV 2.0, though the league noted its new investor, BC Partners, possesses the authority to adjust that cut-off date. The DP World Tour has also announced that LIV golfers will be prohibited from taking part in their competitions beginning in 2027.

In recent years, the European Tour had been granting conditional exemptions to players, permitting LIV golfers to compete in certain tournaments.
