Celtic supporters still verbally bash the club for not replacing Arne Engels in the summer when he joined West Ham United.
Engels was used to a lot of drama at Celtic, but it has followed him to the Championship, given West Ham’s mixed start to the campaign.
TalkingPoints
After just three wins in 10, what tactical changes do you want to see from Martin O'Neill to change Celtic's fortunes vs Besiktas?
At Celtic, Engels would play as a number eight, alongside the likes of Reo Hatate, Benjamin Nygren and Paulo Bernardo, to name a few.
And, at all times, Celtic captain Callum McGregor was behind him, dictating play, but he would always be the deepest midfielder.
But at the London Stadium, Engels was used much deeper by the now-departed Nuno, and West Ham fans on social media are hoping that changes under Parker.

@londonNY1980 explained: ‘He’s never played his proper position really, which is an 8 who has the ability to get forward, but with a proper 6 behind. Great delivery. He’s young with a lot of upside.’

Engels has been showcasing his dead-ball skills at this new club, despite dividing opinions in Glasgow; that was one great trait every Celtic fan agreed with that he had.
It has resulted in him supplying three assists, but he got his first goal for West Ham when he was put through on goal at 3-1, and he coolly slotted it home.
@westhamhour stated: ‘Getting there. Constantly improving, and that’s good. Feel that under Parker, he will improve a huge amount (similar position)’

Either way, it seems as though West Ham fans are seeing progress with Engels, and they feel his goal against Cardiff, added to Parker’s appointment, could be a positive turning point for the player.
