John Anderson has been talking about the Newcastle United match against Crystal Palace.
Matthias Jaissle’s team coming away with all three points.
A poor wind affected first half seeing little action in either goalmouth.
However, Newcastle United coming out and blowing Crystal Palace away inside 15 minutes of the restart.
A very marginal VAR offside call denying Joe Willock an excellent goal but strikes from William Osula and Harvey Barnes ensuring the win.
Reflecting on what he watched on Sunday afternoon, former United defender John Anderson speaking to BBC Newcastle: “A huge three points…but it wasn’t a classic by any means. The first half was very, very forgettable and the two goals at the start of the second half was enough. The first goal totally did Palace. You could see it, heads dropping, they just threw the towel in.”
John Anderson going on to say though: “It was an important win because questions were starting to be asked about the manager. It is a big win, it is a confidence boost, and the fact we kept a clean sheet is an added bonus. I think it is important to say that Newcastle United weren’t great, we weren’t fluent, but it is something to work on. You can’t come here and win and then all of a sudden say we have turned a corner. There is still a lot of work to be done.”
