Rafael Camara is reportedly set to not return to F2 for the rest of the season despite leading the championship.
Ocon was dismissed during the Mexican Grand Prix weekend last time out after a row with the team, replaced at the last minute by Ryo Hirakawa who scored a point on his debut with a 10th place finish.
With Ocon's departure, who was already set to leave at the end of the season, made permanent, Camara will take the Frenchman's seat at least for the race at Interlagos, and likely Las Vegas - although this has not been confirmed by Haas.
Camara has already signed a deal to race with Haas for next season but still technically has F2 commitments in Qatar and Abu Dhabi during the respective F1 weekends.
With four races left at the two venues, Camara leads the F2 title battle for Invicta Racing by just seven points over Red Bull starlet Nikola Tsolov.
But according to F1 journalist Adam Cooper, Camara may stick with the Haas seat for the rest of the season, effectively conceding the F2 championship.
Audi's Freddie Slater is set to replace Camara for 2027, but Cooper also states he could now replace Camara for the final two race weekends, given his F3 season has already finished.
GPFans have contacted Invicta Racing for comment.
Haas team boss Ayao Komatsu has already backed the Brazilian to have the ability to impress when making his debut at his home race.
He said: "Having excelled in his TPC outing in August, we know Rafa's capabilities and we're looking forward to welcoming him into the team this weekend and working with him through his Formula 1 debut driving the VF-26 in Brazil."
