Harry Kane has officially signed a new three-year contract at Bayern Munich, becoming the highest-paid player in Europe in the process.
Article continues under the videoThe England international, who won the Ballon d’Or last week, joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur for €95 million in 2023 and he has scored a whopping 156 goals in just 161 matches for the club.
Barcelona and Manchester United have both been linked with blockbuster moves for Kane in recent months, but he has repeatedly confirmed his desire to extend his spell at Bayern and he has now put pen to paper on fresh terms at the Allianz Arena.
In an official statement posted on the Bayern website, Kane said: “I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich.
“We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”
Christoph Freund, Bayern’s sporting director, added: “We’re absolutely delighted, because with Harry Kane we have the Ballon d’Or winner on the pitch – a team player, a leader, the best all-round striker in the world.
“We all benefit from his qualities as a player and as a person, day in, day out. FC Bayern thrives on players who never stop giving their all, even when they have already achieved the greatest of goals.”

Meanwhile, Bayern’s president, Herbert Hainer, admitted: “What began as a major transfer has, over time, become a special chapter in FC Bayern’s history. Harry Kane lives up to every promise football has to offer, and he has secured his place in the hearts of the fans as one of the greatest figures in the sport of our time.
“My compliments to Jan-Christian Dreesen and our sporting management team. This is a special moment for FC Bayern today.”
Kane’s previous deal was due to expire next summer, but he has officially signed a new contract valid until June 2029, with both parties eager to continue their relationship for the foreseeable future.
According to transfer expert David Ornstein, it is "the most lucrative deal in Bayern history," while Kane has become the highest-paid player in Europe by salary.
Exact salary figures are extremely hard to find online and Ornstein hasn’t detailed how much Kane’s new annual wage is. As a result, it’s hard to directly compare Kane to the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Lamine Yamal.
However, reports suggest that Mbappe’s base salary stands at around €31m at Real Madrid, meaning Kane’s deal will be in excess of that figure.
Haaland earns the same amount as Mbappe, with the pair both on a reported £500,000 per week, while Yamal is reportedly paid roughly €20m per year. Bonuses take this towards the €40m mark in total, though.
Vinicius Jr’s new Real Madrid contract sees him earn over €22m per annum, Virgil van Dijk earns a similar amount at Liverpool, while Jude Bellingham’s yearly salary stands at roughly €20m, according to reports.
So, while Kane’s new salary at Bayern hasn’t been confirmed, it’s expected that he will now be earning more than €31m per year - the most of any footballer in Europe.
