Amid all of the trade deadline rumors, the team’s first loss of the season and consternation surrounding Kyler Murray’s struggles, the Minnesota Vikings’ issues at guard have mostly slid under the radar.

Clearly, that’s not the case inside TCO Performance Center, where the Vikings have already began re-organizing their roster ahead of Nov. 10 — changes that have centered around the offensive line and protection.

On Tuesday, they waived guard Trevor Keegan, who had played in seven games before being let go. The Vikings also released tight end Bryson Nesbit from the practice squad, leaving a spot available on both the active roster and practice squad.

Minnesota Vikings hold OL tryouts

The Vikings’ offensive line depth continues to be thinned out by injuries. Rookie guard Donovan Jackson and center Nick Samac are both on injured reserve, which leaves Will Fries and Joe Huber as the only true guards on the active roster.

Swing lineman Joe Huber is starting at left guard, with Jackson out. Behind starting tackles Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill are Caleb Tiernan and Ryan Van Demark, who have both been forced into action multiple times already this season.

Report: Vikings signing UDFA Corey Robinson

Thus, it was no surprise Wednesday when NFL insider Jordan Schultz (The Schultz Report) reported that the Minnesota Vikings are signing one of the offensive linemen they worked out Tuesday.

The lucky pick — undrafted offensive lineman Corey Robinson II, the last name on Alec Lewis’ list above, a tackle out of Oklahoma who played with the Bengals during the preseason.

Robinson is a 6-foot-5, 311-pound lineman who wore No. 51 at Arkansas after starting his college career at Georgia Tech. He made 12 starts for the Razorbacks in 2025. He went undrafted in April, before signing with Cincinnati on May 8.

What to expect from Robinson…

His time as a Bengal ended on roster cutdown day (Aug. 30), when the Bengals waived him. He has been a free agent since, which made him an pickup for a team desperate for OL help and a likely fit for the practice squad, though that has yet to be announced.

Robinson isn’t going to come in and magically fix any of the MN Vikings’ immediate protection problems. That will have to come in the next week via trade, if it happens at all…
