Paige wrestled in "WWE NXT" this past week, marking her first match in the brand in 12 years, and her return hasn't been received well in some quarters.

Paige was NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan's mystery challenger, with the experienced star coming up short against the champ. Her return surprised and pleased many of her fans, but her compatriot Blake Monroe wasn't impressed, calling it a "nostalgia tour" on social media. Paige hit back at her, telling Monroe to prove she can generate a similar reaction from fans.

"You could only hope to be a "nostalgia" queen one day. Come back to me when you finally get pop walking out to the crowd bb because as of right now.. I'm not impressed and nor is the crowd," said Paige.

The two English stars have yet to come face-to-face in WWE, but they have history in AEW, having feuded and faced each other on a couple of occasions. They competed against each other in a few tag team matches and two singles matches, with each picking up one win. Monroe — then known as Mariah May — won their most recent encounter in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Paige, the first-ever NXT Women's Champion, narrowly lost to Jordan, who rolled up the former AEW star to secure the win and continue her first reign as champion. Following the match, Paige revealed that she had been added to the bout at the last minute, with another star reportedly having originally been lined up to face Jordan.
