The Charlotte Hornets will be without guards Kon Knueppel and Coby White when they open their season Wednesday at the Brooklyn Nets (7:30 ET, League Pass), the team confirmed on Tuesday.
Knueppel, who has been sidelined with a left hamstring strain, has resumed individual on-court activities, the Hornets announced Tuesday, October 20. However, he remains out ahead of Charlotte’s regular-season opener against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Knueppel averaged 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists across 81 games during the 2025-26 campaign, establishing himself as one of the NBA’s most productive young perimeter players.
He made 273 3-pointers, leading the entire NBA and breaking the previous rookie record of 206 held by Keegan Murray.
Knueppel connected on 42.5% of his attempts from beyond the arc, making him one of the league’s most dangerous outside shooters. His performance earned him All-Rookie First Team honors and a runner-up finish in Rookie of the Year voting.
White, meanwhile, suffered a left calf strain Oct. 5 during training camp and missed the remainder of preseason.
The Hornets acquired White from the Chicago Bulls in February, and he went on to have a strong finish to the season with his new team. He was the hero in the team’s play-in victory over the Miami Heat, scoring 19 points and hitting the turnaround 3 late in regulation to force overtime. He signed a three-year, $74 million contract with Charlotte over the summer.
