Vincent Kompany’s managerial career has already earned plenty of attention, and former Manchester City teammate Scott Sinclair believes the Bayern Munich boss has all the qualities necessary to reach the very top of the coaching profession.
Sinclair, who played alongside Kompany at Manchester City, praised the Belgian’s intelligence, leadership, and ability to carry himself as a captain, explaining that he always expected Kompany to become a manager one day.
“Vincent Kompany started so well as a manager; he’s such an intelligent guy. Having been at City with him, the way he carried himself as a captain was incredible, and I always thought he was going to be a manager one day,” Sinclair told Andy’s Bet Club.
Sinclair also pointed to Kompany’s growing trophy collection and backed him to continue building his reputation at Bayern Munich, where expectations are always high and winning silverware is a fundamental part of the job.
“He’s already won loads of trophies, and I’m sure that he’s going to be one of the topmanagers in the world. To reach that level, you need to keepwinning and getting silverware, and I’m sure he will keep doing that with Bayern for the foreseeable future.”
Kompany’s transition from a decorated playing career to the dugout has been closely watched, particularly given the scale of the challenge at Bayern. Leading one of Europe’s biggest clubs brings enormous pressure, but Sinclair’s comments suggest that the qualities he saw in Kompany as a teammate were already pointing toward a future in management.
Ultimately, continued success in Munich will be central to Kompany’s ambitions. If he can keep delivering trophies while developing Bayern into a consistent force in Germany and Europe, Sinclair’s prediction could become increasingly difficult to dispute.
