There's a new quarterback in Baltimore.
Days after Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley suffered potential season-ending injuries, the Ravens reportedly traded for veteran Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news on Wednesday, adding that the trade is expected to be finalized over the weekend.
With the Ravens playing on Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the earliest that Brissett could make his debut for the team would be on Monday, Nov. 16, against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano will start for Baltimore against Jacksonville, with inexperienced quarterbacks Austin Reed and Kedon Slovis serving as the backups. Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and two turnovers in his relief debut Sunday against the Buffalo Bills after Jackson and Huntley went down.
The two-time MVP Jackson, coming off three missed games with an ankle injury, suffered a thumb injury that will require surgery on his first throw last Sunday. His backup, Huntley, returned to the field, but he went down with a turf toe injury that will require surgery in the second quarter.
Brissett, 33, lost his starting job to Gardner Minshew on Sunday. That made him an obvious trade candidate before next Tuesday's deadline, and the Ravens pounced quickly. Brissett started Arizona's first eight games this season and went 3-5 with 1,719 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
An 11-year NFL veteran, Brissett has several ties to the Ravens' coaching staff. Quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork held the same position for the Cardinals last season and passing game coordinator Marcus Brady was a Colts assistant when Brissett was there from 2018-20.
Brissett was drafted in 2016 by the New England Patriots and has gone on to play for six teams before Baltimore -- the Patriots (2016, 2024), Indianapolis Colts (2017-20), Miami Dolphins (2021), Cleveland Browns (2022), Washington Commanders (2023) and Cardinals (2025-26).
