As part of last night’s new stadium festivities, AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni shared a few words on various matters.
Scaroni arrived at the Sforza Castle last night, where the evening of celebrations for the launch of the new Milan and Inter stadium project took place. A new 71,500-seat stadium was unveiled to the public, and it was also revealed that it will be called the Generali Stadium.
As is to be expected with a project of this magnitude to replace such a historic structure like San Siro, there has been a wide spectrum of reactions to the design put forward by Foster+Partners & Manica, but it certainly looks futuristic.
It is a project that Scaroni has dedicated considerable energy to over the years, ever since the first talks of a new stadium began. Upon his arrival, he briefly answered questions from the journalists present, including those from MilanNews.
“I’d already seen the project a little bit, you know… I’ve been working on it since 2017, does that seem like enough? Something quick and easy, really quick (laughs), it gives me great satisfaction,” he said.
“Saturday’s game? There’s no greater satisfaction than winning a derby, that’s exactly what it is. We even won the last one: I’m always confident. I like Amorim.”
