New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez will have his hands full in Week 9 when Green Bay Packers star wide receivers Christian Watson and Matthew Golden come to town. The matchup will pit Gonzalez against one of the NFL's most dangerous receiving tandems.
Through six games played thus far this season, Gonzalez has recorded 21 total tackles and five passes defended. He has yet to record an interception this season but will be instrumental in slowing down Green Bay's duo as is expected of him, given his status as being one of the best cover corners in the league.
Watson and Golden have emerged as arguably the NFL's best wide receiver duo this season, combining for 1,327 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Watson has 42 receptions for 708 yards and six touchdowns, while Golden has 43 catches for 619 yards and four scores.
Watson's speed and downfield ability make him a dangerous deep-ball threat. Golden, meanwhile, routinely makes spectacular catches. However, Gonzalez might be able to exploit Golden's recent struggles with drops, as Golden has had several costly drops this season, and matchup well against the 6-foot-4 Watson.
