Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver and potential Pittsburgh Steelers trade target Brian Thomas Jr. has broken his silence on recent rumors surrounding his availability ahead of the November 10 deadline.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Thomas made it clear that he's just trying to push through the noise of trade rumors, some of which have actually included the Steelers in recent weeks.
"I mean, everybody is entitled to their own opinion," Thomas said. "I just go out there, do what I do, and just go out there and try to be the best player I can be. Just gotta keep fighting through it. That's the only way I know how to get through it. … That's what I'm gonna continue to do. Keep fighting, and keep coming in here with a good mindset."
Thomas, who was drafted by the Jaguars in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, had a terrific rookie season in which he recorded 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns on 87 catches. He was named to the Pro Bowl as a rookie for his stellar efforts.
Unfortunately, the next 20 games haven't gone as well, as he's recorded just 812 yards and three touchdowns. He's also coming off a two-game stretch in which he hasn't caught a pass and a Week 6 performance in which he played just 15 snaps.
In addition to the Chiefs, the Steelers were listed as potential trade suitors for Thomas. But it remains to be seen if Pittsburgh would be willing to meet the Jaguars' rumored high asking price.
